MANILA, Philippines – An official of Far Eastern University confirmed Wednesday a stabbing incident involving a female student inside the FEU campus in Morayta, Manila Tuesday night.
In an exclusive interview, Director Albert Cabasada III of the FEU Admissions and External Relations Office said the university is giving its full cooperation to the police in its investigation of the stabbing incident.
“We have shown CCTV footage of the entire incident to Captain Antonio Naag, head of the University Belt Area Police Community Precinct of the PNP. We have also gotten in touch with the victim’s family,” he told ABS-CBNnews.com.
He said the FEU Student Affairs office has also gotten in contact with the University of Santo Tomas following reports that the victim is an IT student of UST.
A police report earlier said victim Joanne Lourdes Concepcion Reyes, 20, had just left the FEU auditorium when she was blocked by suspects wearing nursing uniforms, according to one of her companions.
The suspects first attacked with pepper spray before stabbing Reyes, who is an Information Technology student at the University of Santo Tomas. FEU guards denied that the incident happened on campus but the university later confirmed it.
Cabasada said the incident occurred at around 6:20 pm-6:30 pm Tuesday. He did not confirm if the alleged suspects were FEU students, saying that all hard facts have been turned over to the police.
