Privacy paramount amid anti-cybercrime law - PNP

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) assured the public that there will be no invasion of privacy with the passage of the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Chief Dir. Samuel Pagdilao said the bill actually makes it easier for people to confront cyber crimes such as harassment, hacking and online scams.

Cybercrime investigator Sr. Insp. Robert Reyes said that majority of the cases they've been handling deals with online scams.

The CIDG said it is now training with Microsoft on how best to deal with cyber criminals. – by Jorge Cariño, ABS-CBN News
