MANILA, Philippines – A new witness in the hazing of San Beda law student Marc Andrei Marcos has submitted an affidavit to the Department of Justice (DOJ), tagging 36 members of the Lex Leonum fraternity.

The witness “Angel” (not his real name), allegedly a Lex Leonum member tasked to oversee the initiation rites of Marcos, detailed the roles of the members during the rites held last July.

According to National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Atty. Nonnatus Rojas, they have reason to believe that Angel's affidavit is accurate because he was present during the rites.

The NBI is now planning on making him a state witness. He is currently under the witness protection program of the DOJ.

Meanwhile, it was also disclosed that two of the hazing suspects are sons of NBI senior agents.

Rojas said the senior agents are not involved in the investigation nor did they try to exert influence on the case. -- Report from Niko Baua, ABS-CBN News
