Double-cross eyed in trader's killing

MANILA , Philippines – A 28-year-old businessman was shot dead on Saturday morning in Tondo, Manila.

The victim was identified as Rodel Reyes, who sustained three gunshot wounds to the chest.

The incident was caught on the CCTV camera installed at the corner of Pacheco and Lacson streets in Barangay 67, in Tondo.

In the footage, Reyes was seen arriving in the area around 4 a.m. on board a white Toyota Fortuner. He parked his SUV at the entrance of Pacheco streets, blocking other vehicles from entering the street.

He then alighted from his vehicle and went to Pacheco Street , only to quickly return while being followed by a group of men armed with various types of firearms.

Residents said they heard gunshots and later noticed Reyes already lying on the ground.

Authorities got hold of the CCTV footage and are looking into drug deal double-cross as the motive in the killing. Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
