MANILA, Philippines – Three inmates of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 10 escaped from jail before dawn Tuesday.
Superintendent Marcelino Pedroso of QCPD Station 10 identified the escaped inmates as Roel Dantes, 20; Jestoni Tributo, 20; and Jodi San Luis.
Both Dantes and Tributo were jailed for robbery charges, while San Luis was facing illegal drug raps.
Desk Officer SPO1 Chester Dicopay said the three inmates had just been turned over by barangay officials.
Dicopay said he was about to send the inmates to the cell when he was pushed using a door. He lost his balance, giving the suspects a chance to escape.
Dicopay was relieved from duty due to the incident. An investigation was launched.
A manhunt operation was also launched to arrest the escaped suspects. – report from Eric Dastas, dzMM
