MANILA, Philippines – Around 150 Members of the Samahan ng mga Manggagawa ng Paliparan sa Pilipinas (SMPP) staged protests in front of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) administration building on Friday to express dismay over the delay in their incentive bonus.

According to SMPP President Roy Quismorio, they are asking for the yearly personal incentive bonus that was not given last year.

Quismorio said the board has already approved the claim but it hasn’t been given until now.

The employees, wearing black shirts with a print of an inverted yellow ribbon, also called for the removal of MIAA general manager Angel Honrado.

Honrado, meanwhile, said the claims of SMPP have been disallowed by the Commission on Audit (COA) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

"If this is disallowed by COA and DBM, I cannot be a part of breaking the law,” he said. -- Report from Alex Santos, ABS-CBN News
