Metro south is new carjacking capital

MANILA, Philippines – The Southern Police District (SPD) has recorded the most number of car theft cases in Metro Manila as of July this year, a police official said on Tuesday.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head Chief Supt. Allan Purisima said SPD, which has jurisdiction over Makati, Parañaque, Las Piñas and Pasay, posted the highest number of cases with 285.

This is higher compared to the number of cases recorded by the Quezon City Police District (177), Eastern Police District (146), Manila Police District (129) and Northern Police District (74).

Meanwhile, Manila posted the highest monthly average of recorded crimes with 57. It was followed by Quezon City with 40, Camanava area with 19 and eastern Metro Manila with 18. - Report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
