MANILA - The father of slain international race car driver Enzo Pastor, Tomas Pastor, filed his reply-affidavit with the Department of Justice (DOJ) on the murder and frustrated murder charges against alleged gunman PO2 Edgar Angel.
Pastor also brought along Paolo Salazar, Enzo's companion on the night he was killed on June 12, who also sustained a gunshot wound in the back, and is a complainant in the frustrated murder complaint.
In his reply-affidavit, Pastor maintained that Angel's counter-affidavit, which recanted Angel's extrajudicial confession that he was the one who shot Enzo, is a lie.
Salazar also submitted to DOJ Assistant State Prosecutor Susan Villanueva an additional sworn statement stating that he positively identified Angel as Enzo's gunman on August 26 in Camp Karingal when he was invited by the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit for the follow-up operation.
Angel was already in the custody of the police then.
Salazar said he was able to identify Angel as the gunman because he looked Angel in the eye during the shooting incident.
Also submitted were phone records that show the exchanges of calls between Sandy de Guzman, the alleged mastermind in Enzo's shooting, Enzo's wife, Daliah, and Angel on June 12. The exchanges totaled at least 17 times, according to the evidence submitted.
The affidavit, dated August 27, of Alvin Nidua, who confessed that he was hired by Sandy De Guzman through Tramo, Pasay City Barangay Captain Borbie Rivera and Police Inspector Efren Oco to kill Enzo, was also formally submitted as evidence.
Nidua claimed he did not take the job because the payment offer to him was only P200,000 while his demand was P500,000.
Chona Domen, the housemaid of Enzo and his wife, Daliah, also submitted her sworn statement regarding the supposed affair between De Guzman and Daliah.
Domen claimed that since 2013, De Guzman would go to the residence of Enzo and Daliah and have sex there with Daliah whenever Enzo was abroad for a race.
Domen's affidavit states that she told Enzo of the affair, which led Enzo to confront his wife and her parents.
