MANILA, Philippines – Three members of the Quezon City police have been fired after their allegedly involvement in a carnapping case.
The policemen were identified as PO3 Fernandeo dela Cruz, PO3 Roberto Tripon and PO1 Sherwin Reyes, all of whom were stationed at QC Police District (QCPD) Station 1.
According to an initial investigation, the three policemen responded to a report that a blue Toyota RAV 4 (plate number UNS 553) was found parked at Bulusan Street in Barangay San Isidro Labrador.
After the residents reported the situation, the three policemen picked up the vehicle and reportedly brought it to the station.
But when the owner, Bessy Tiam-Ang, arrived at the QCPD Station 1 to take back her vehicle, it was nowhere to be found.
The vehicle was retrieved after a follow-up operation by the QCPD, but the three policemen had already changed the plate number that was written on their blotter.
Dela Cruz, Tripon and Reyes face carnapping and falsification of public documents charges. -- Report from DZMM.
