MANILA, Philippines – Three Quezon City policemen were relieved from their posts after they were accused of car theft and falsification of public documents.

The cops were identified as PO3 Fernando dela Cruz, PO3 Roberto Tripon and PO1 Sherwin Reyes.

Investigation showed that the 3 allegedly took a blue Toyota Rav-4 (UNF-553), which was parked along Bulusan St. in Barangay San Isidro.

The vehicle’s owner, a certain Bessie Ang, said the vehicle broke down and was left in the area.

But residents did not know who the owner of the parked vehicle was, prompting them to alert authorities.

The vehicle was then allegedly taken by the responding cops.

When Ang returned to the area, she was surprised that her vehicle was missing.

Ang reported the incident to the police station and saw that the cops entered a different plate number on the logbook.

The vehicle was eventually returned to Ang.

The 3 cops, meanwhile, are under investigation. -- Report from Robert Mano, dzMM
