MANILA -- A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck off Dingalan, Aurora on Saturday noon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the epicenter of the quake was located 12 kilometers northeast of Dingalan at 12:30 p.m.
The quake was tectonic in origin, which means it was caused by the movement of a local fault.
It had a depth of 30 kilometers.
Intensity III was felt in Dingalan in Aurora and Gabaldon in Nueva Ecija while intensity II was felt in Baler in Aurora, Laur in Nueva Ecija, Cabanatuan City, Quezon City and Malabon City.
Meanwhile, intensity I was felt in Dipaculao in Aurora, and Palayan City, Bongabon and Gapan in Nueva Ecija.
Phivolcs said no damage and aftershocks are expected.
