MANILA – A vendor was shot dead by a still unidentified suspect in Tandang Sora, Quezon City on Saturday, police said.

The victim, 33-year-old Ramil Atibagos, was shot at close range by a gunman wearing a helmet and a jacket.

Witnesses said Atibagos tried to run but the gunman chased him inside a construction supply warehouse and shot him to death.

Three bystanders were also wounded in the incident. They were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center to get treatment.

The family of the victim suspects that some personnel of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 6 may be responsible for the shooting.

According to the victim’s brother, several QCPD cops barged into their home last month and attacked Atibagos.

The brother said the attack came after another sibling sought police help because of an altercation with Atibagos.

Atibagos then made public of the attack through a television show, which may have irked the cops, the victim’s brother said.

Investigations are still ongoing, as of posting. -- Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
