MANILA, Philippines – The Kaya Natin Movement is calling on the government to form an independent investigating body to continue former Interior and Local Secretary Jesse Robredo's probe into “jueteng.”

Kaya Natin convenor Harvey Keh said that before Robredo died, he was deep into investigating the illegal numbers game and the involvement of certain Philippine National Police (PNP) officials in jueteng.

Keh also said Robredo was investigating how some jueteng lords were using the small town lottery as a front in their jueteng operations.

Kaya Natin is also urging authorities to investigate the circumstances of the plane crash that killed Robredo and 2 pilots.

Robredo was a co-founder of Kaya Natin, a movement for good governance and ethical leadership.
