AUV, not yet fully paid, seized by armed men

MANILA – A Toyota Innova was seized in Sampaloc, Manila before dawn on Friday.

The victims, a couple, said their Toyota Innova (PFQ 729) was seized was by armed men at the corner of Dapitan and Maceda streets after buying food from a convenience store at around 1:30 a.m.

According to the driver, he had just got back inside his car after buying when one of the suspects opened the driver side door - just as he was about to lock it - and took the car at gunpoint.

The driver said he had no choice but to surrender his car key to the suspects. He said he still has to pay for the car loan for one more year. He also lost his guitar worth about P80,000.

Witnesses said the suspects fled towards Lacson Avenue. Another car believed to be carrying the suspects' cohorts was also seen speeding off after the carjacking incident. – reports from Noel Alamar, dzMM; Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
