|400 kilos of 'botcha' seized in Tondo
MANILA, Philippines – Authorities seized 400 kilograms of double dead meat (botcha) in Tondo, Manila on Sunday night.
Dr. Hector Dimaculangan said the Manila Veterinary Inspection Board acted on a tip and caught pedicab driver Adenelo Noque with the double dead meat at around 11:30 p.m.
An inspection by the authorities confirmed that the meat was indeed tainted.
Noque denied he owned the meat, saying he was just asked by a man aboard a cab to deliver the double dead meat to Ilaya in Recto.
Dimaculangan lamented that trade of double dead meat continues since many consumers still buy them despite the health threats it pose. – with ABS-CBN News
