MANILA (UPDATED) - Is Daliah Guerrero Pastor, wife of slain race car champion Enzo Pastor and a suspect in the latter's murder, already out of the country?
According to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, there is no information from the Bureau of Immigration that Pastor's widow has fled the Philippines.
"It's negative, so far, based on my initial query from BI, from Commissioner [Siegfred] Mison, based on their data base. As of yesterday, no such record of departure. But they are further confirming, so wala," she said.
A Philippine Star report earlier quoted a source as saying that Mrs. Pastor spent P8 million to leave the country and flee to Malaysia.
The report said Mrs. Pastor took a chartered plane from Luzon to Tawi-Tawi and then took a speedboat to Malaysia.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), however, has denied reports that Dalia left the country.
De Lima said the CAAP has yet to advise her department of any chartered flight taken by Mrs. Pastor.
"Ang CAAP naman, they advise us kapag may ganyan. Kapag may info sila na merong chartered flight, and then based on the manifest, unless kung ibang pangalan, but so far wala pang indication na nakaalis na si Mrs. Pastor."
Dalia is facing parricide charges before the DOJ after she allegedly masterminded the death of her husband.
Police said Dalia and her alleged lover, businessman Domingo "Sandy" de Guzman, ordered the murder of Pastor.
Confessed gunman Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel claimed De Guzman hired him to kill the race car champ.
