Raps filed vs ex-army official over SALN

MANILA, Philippines – Criminal charges have been filed by the Office of the Ombudsman against a retired army official in relation to alleged misrepresentations in his 2003 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN).

Retired Maj. Gen. Reynaldo Alcasid, who retired from the military in October 2004, is facing charges of perjury and violation of RA 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees filed by graft investigation and prosecution officer Dyna Camba.

Alcasid is accused of making a false declaration in his SALN when he did not declare ownership of a house and lot located at the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Officers' Village Association Inc. (AFPOVAI) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Alcasid is also accused of failing to disclose a $62,000 loan from private sources.

Bail bond for his perjury case was set at P6,000 while P10,000 bail bond was set for the violation of the code of conduct and ethical standards.
