MANILA, Philippines – Several passengers were stuck inside a train of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 in the middle of two stations past noon Monday.
Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said the train's pantograph suffered a problem while traveling between V. Mapa and J. Ruiz stations at around 12:30 p.m.
A pantograph is a device that connects the train to the overhead catenary line.
Cabrera said passengers had to stay inside the train for their safety.
"Ok... The LRT train just stopped, and now we are [stuck] between J. Ruiz and V. Mapa," said Twitter user @JMmelegrito.
