MANILA – A Quezon City police official was killed in an ambush while he was driving his kids to school Monday morning.
Chief Inspector Roderick Medrano, chief for operations of Quezon City Police District – Station 4, was driving his children to school when armed men on board a motorcycle strafed his car at the corner of Zabarte Road and San Diego Drive.
Medrano was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. His two children and wife, who were with him inside the car, were not harmed.
A witness told Radio dzMM that Medrano's car crashed into a wall after the shooting incident. The gunmen then fired more shots at the car to make sure the police official will not survive.
The assailants then fled towards Fairview area, the witness said. – report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
