MANILA, Philippines - A police and a criminology student were caught selling a stolen motorcycle in Caloocan on Sunday night.

The suspects, PO1 Eduardo Lomboy Jr. and Jerome Aniscal, were caught by members of Caloocan anti-carnapping police selling a stolen bike for P14,000.

Senior Inspector Gaylord Tamayo said the two bought the stolen motorcycle and intended to sell it to a fellow police at a higher price.

Tamayo said selling the bike to a police would make it harder for the owner to recover it. He explained a police riding a bike without a proper plate is less likely to be apprehended.

Lomboy is facing charges of violating the anti-fencing law and grave misconduct, which may result in his dismissal from service. – Report from Raffy Santos, ABS-CBN News
