Dahlia had affair but denies murder involvement, family friend says
MANILA (UPDATED) -- Enzo Pastor was aware that his wife was having an affair, police said on Thursday.
In an interview on radio DZMM, Chief Insp. Rodel Marcelo of the Quezon City Police District said the slain race car driver knew that his wife, Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor, had an extra-marital affair with businessman Domingo De Guzman III.
Marcelo said Pastor was friends with De Guzman, who was also a car racer.
In a statement, self-confessed gunman PO2 Edgar Angel said Dahlia was present while he and De Guzman were talking about their plan to kill Pastor.
Police said this makes Dahlia her an accessory to the crime.
Angel also claimed that Dahlia was a battered wife. He said De Guzman showed him a picture of Dahlia covered with bruises.
"Allegedly may pinakita si Sandy (De Guzman) na picture kay Egay (Angel) na si Dahlia may pasa. Allegedly binubugbog ni Enzo," Marcelo said.
Marcelo said De Guzman and Angel had been talking about killing Pastor before Christmas of 2013.
FAMILY FRIEND SPEAKS
A friend of the Pastor and Guerrero families, meanwhile, told ABS-CBN News in an exclusive interview that Dahlia is denying involvement in Enzo's murder.
She said Dahlia is now with their children.
She, however, supported police in saying that Dahlia had an affair.
The ABS-CBN News source said Enzo told her in 2012 that his wife and de Guzman knew and other.
She said Dahlia and de Guzman attended parties together, without Enzo's knowledge.
Dahlia has yet to surface.
ABS-CBN went to the houses where she is known to reside, but security guards in subdivisions said Dahlia and her children with Enzo have not been been seen for a month.
Her father, meanwhile, said the Guerrero family is not yet ready to talk to media.
Dahlia, Angel, and de Guzman have been charged for Pastor's murder.
De Guzman and Angel underwent inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice.
Aside from murder, they also face frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms.
Dahlia has also been declared as a "person of interest" by the Bureau of Immigration. - with a report from Jasmin Romero, ABS-CBN News
