MANILA – The 12-year-old boy, who has been tagged as “Spiderboy” because of the way he conducts his heists, was again seen on camera robbing an imported goods store in Divisoria.
The suspect was tagged in the recent robbery of a lottery outlet and a warehouse in Binondo, Manila.
Footage from a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera shows that the boy climbed up the roof of the establishment, entered holes in the building, and ransacked the stockroom.
He then climbed the walls leading to the cashier, where he was seen stealing P10,000.
The register also contained P3,000 worth of coins, but the suspect did not steal it.
The Chinese businesswoman, “Rose” (not her real name), who owns the store, expressed frustration that robbers are getting younger and younger.
Store owners are also dismayed with their barangay tanod, who they said is incompetent in catching the thieves.
"Magaling lang sa pangongolekta pero ‘pag sa gawa wala na,” Rose said.
The boy has admitted to authorities that he was ordered by an adult to steal money from a store and he was promised to earn P200 per store. He has been stealing for 3 days already.
The police, meanwhile, are also frustrated with the Juvenile Delinquency Law because they are forced to release the minors they catch committing crimes.
