MANILA, Philippines – Two of the suspects in the robbery of a pawnshop inside Metropoint Mall in Pasay City last week have been identified by police.

Police said at least 7 suspects, allegedly members of the “Martilyo Gang,” took part in the heist.

Two of them were identified as Tho Mangulamas and Danny Talib. Robbery charges will be filed against the two.

Police said Magulamas purchased a pipe wrench inside the mall while Talib was the one who smashed the Tambunting Pawnshop’s glass jewelry case using the wrench.

Police said Talib sustained wounds after breaking the glass.

Footage from closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras inside the mall showed how 4 suspects robbed the pawnshop while at least 3 others served as lookouts.

Only one of the suspects was seen with a gun.

Authorities said the robbers took away at least P30 million from the pawnshop heist last August 16.

The group is also tagged in the robbery of the Lucky Dragon Jewelry Pawnshop in Baclaran in 2006. -- Report from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News
