Yellow warning raised over Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines – The state weather bureau has raised a yellow warning over Metro Manila due to tropical storm "Helen".

"Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over Metro Manila most likely to continue for the next 3 hours," PAGASA said in its Twitter account.

"POSSIBLE FLOODING in low-lying areas and those located near the river and creek channels.," it added.

Under yellow warning, residents in low-lying areas are advised to monitor the situation in their surroundings.

PAGASA said tropical storm "Helen" is now crossing over northern Luzon and is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon.
