MANILA - It's all-out war against colorum vehicles in the city of Manila.
Manila Vice Mayor and city traffic czar Isko Moreno on Wednesday morning led apprehensions of illegally operating trucks and buses, including Asian utility vehicles.
Confiscated plates will be turned over to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for corresponding penalties.
Moreno said other Metro Manila mayors will join the crackdown.
On Tuesday, Metro Manila mayors and officials of the LTFRB and Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) agreed on stiffer penalties against colorum vehicles.
Passenger buses without franchises will be fined P1 million while jeepneys will be fined P50,000.
Trucks without franchises have until october 17 to fix their documents. - ANC
