Truckers protest port congestion, truck ban
MANILA – A group of truckers staged a protest in front of the office of Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) on Monday over the congestion in the ports of Manila as a result of the city's truck ban policy.
The group said truckers have been unable to load or unload their goods smoothly since many empty containers remain stuck at the ports.
The protesters said the PPA must now act to remove empty containers from the ports. As of past 10 a.m., the protesters were blocking three lanes of Roxas Boulevard's south-bound lane. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
