MANILA - Traffic remained heavy at the Magallanes Interchange on Saturday after the route was closed to motorists to give way to road repairs and rehabilitation.

The southbound lane of Magallanes Interchange was closed to traffic on Friday night. It will remain closed until August 17.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said the road will be covered with asphalt to improve its surface.

Improvements on the structural component of the flyover will also be done.

Due to the closure, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised vehicles coming from Manila to Cubao to take the service road, turn to Magallanes Village, then take Magallanes ramp via EDSA.

For vehicles coming from Roxas, EDSA-Taft Avenue will be opened for left turning from Saturday, August 9, to August 17, Sunday.
