1 killed as bus hits motorcycle in Magallanes

MANILA, Philippines - A motorcycle rider got killed while the other person riding with him was severely injured after a bus hit them along South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) past 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The casualty was identified as Marvin Apura, 27 years old.

According to injured victim Myrna Apura, they were about to take the Magallanes flyover when a Don Mariano bus with plate TVX 545 rammed into their motorcycle.

Because of the strong impact, Marvin and the motorcycle they were riding went under the bus, while Myrna got thrown several meters away.

Marvin was supposed to bring Myrna to her office in Makati City when the accident happened.

Authorities are currently hunting down the bus driver, who escaped after the road mishap. – from a report by Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
