MANILA, Philippines – Authorities on Wednesday urged motorists passing through Roxas Boulevard in Manila to take alternative routes, as a storm surge in Manila Bay have caused some portions of the road impassable to traffic.
“Mas malakas pa ang hampas ng alon ngayon kumpara kanina," said ABS-CBN News correspondent Jacque Manabat in her report to ANC’s Headstart.
Garbage can be seen floating on the leg-deep floodwaters in Roxas Boulevard.
Personnel from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) are in the area to warn motorists of the heavy flooding along Roxas Boulevard.
Motorists from Manila are advised to take U.N. Avenue or M.H. Del Pilar while those coming from the south were urged to pass through Mabini.
