One more prisoner who bolted a police detention facility in Caloocan City with 12 other inmates has been recaptured, police said Wednesday morning.
Senior Superintendent Jude Santos, Caloocan City police chief, said Ryan Prancillo, who has a case of robbery/holdup and illegal possession of firearms was captured in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan province.
Santos said Prancillo was the 5th inmate to be recaptured by police.
He said they are hunting down 8 more prisoners who escaped from their detention cell at the Caloocan City Police Station's north extension office in Camarin distirct on Monday midnight.
Four other escaped inmates identified as Pedro Ramos, Judmar Jordan, Noli Paredes and Rolando Hernandez were arrested in separate operations at Baclaran church and Bacoor town in Cavite province late Tuesday.
Santos said the inmates took advantage of the heavy rains on Monday night and forced open the jail's ceiling.
He said duty policemen learned of the prison break from one of the inmates around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The police chief said jail facility's chief, Senior Inspector Ronald Perilla, and two other policemen have been relieved from their posts. With a report from Alex Calda, radio dzMM
