MANILA – Employees of state-run People's Television Network (PTV-4) and Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC-13) slammed President Benigno Aquino III for supposedly failing to deliver his promises.

PTV-4 and IBC-13 employees also marched along Commonwealth Avenue early Monday carrying placards and banners, ahead of Aquino's fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA).

The employees said Aquino did not fulfill his promise of higher salary and better working conditions for them.

PTV-4 employees said their condition got worse after Coloma, being the Presidential Communications Operations Office secretary, took control of the state-owned network.

PTV-4 employees said they have not experienced any salary increase for the past eight years. Retired employees also were not able to get their pension from Government Service Insurance System, they claimed.

IBC-13 employees, meanwhile, said corruption is widespread in the network. They are seeking the network's privatization. – report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
