MANILA, Philippines – A yellow alert warning remains raised at the La Mesa Dam in Quezon City due to non-stop rains Thursday.
As of 11 p.m., the water level at the dam was at 79.38 meters, or 77 centimeters below the spilling level of 80.15 meters.
Residents in the vicinity of the dam are recommended to prepare for a possible evacuation.
Authorities said water level is expected to increase overnight due to incessant rains.
Excess water from the dam flows into the Tullahan River and may affect parts of Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, and Valenzuela. -- Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
