MANILA, Philippines – A yellow alert remains hoisted over La Mesa Dam in Quezon City following heavy rains since Friday.
George Mentil, head works authority of La Mesa Dam, said the water level at the dam reached 79.42 meters at 6 a.m., only 73 centimeters below the spilling level of 80.15 meters.
Local government units are continuing to monitor the water level at the dam. A red alert status will be raised once water reaches 79.53 meters.
Spilling water from the dam flows to the Tullahan River and may cause flooding in Fairview, Valenzuela City and Malabon. -- Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
