MANILA, Philippines – Parents complained anew about the sudden suspension of classes from pre-school to high school.

Many complained the Department of Education (DepEd) should not make such announcements halfway through the class since many parents are already at work and may be unable to pick up their kids immediately.

As a result, some school kids had no choice but to wait for hours before their parents were able to pick them up.

Meanwhile, parts of Metro Manila experienced gutter deep floods, particularly in areas like Santolan in Malabon and Dampalit in Valenzuela.

Afternoon classes in the entire National Capital Region (NCR) and parts of Luzon were suspended due to tropical depression “Juaning”.

Dr. Elena Ruiz of the DepEd-NCR said classes at all levels (pre-school, elementary and high school) in the NCR were suspended effective 12 noon. -- Report from Zen Hernandez, ABS-CBN News
