Two drown in Navotas, Rizal

MANILA, Philippines – Two persons drowned in Navotas and Rizal, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Tuesday.

The NDRRMC said the first victim, identified as Carl Peter Castillo, was on board a motorcycle when he accidentally slipped and plunged into the Montalban river in Rizal last July 19.

Castillo’s remains were later found in Pasig River.

The other victim, identified as Jetro Quiban, reportedly jumped off and drowned in Bagumbayan river in Navotas at around 3:45 p.m. last Sunday, July 22.

His body was recovered at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday.
