New maid steals employer's jewelry, gadgets
MANILA – A newly-hired maid ran away with over P300,000 worth of jewelry and gadgets owned by her employer in Antipolo City.
The suspect, identified as Maria Nelda Tapil, was just into her third week on the job.
Victim Corazon Zapanta said she and her grandchildren were in school when the maid stole her expensive jewelry, laptop, Ipad mini and a cellphone from their home in Barangay Dalig on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the agency where they hired the maid is also coordinating with police.
Authorities are now searching for the suspect.
"Paalala po ng mga pulis sa mga kababayan natin na mag-background check. Maging matalino sa pagpili," said Police Superintendent Arthur Masungsong. -- Report from Raya Capulong, ABS-CBN News
