MANILA - Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman expects the water level from the Marikina River to drop finally since the rains have stopped.
"There is still one round of rain water that will come from the mountains, but this will not affect greatly the water level," he said.
The water level there reached the second alert, forcing the city to evacuate its residents. The water reached 16 meters.
“We won’t let the residents go home yet until the weather has cleared,” he said.
He expects, however, that the worst has passed.
