MANILA – At least 17 people were injured after a jeepney flipped over in Manila Sunday evening.
Traffic investigators said a jeepney plying the Manila Central University – Baclaran route crashed into a police vehicle at the corner of Avenida and Pampanga Street while allegedly attempting to beat the red light.
After hitting the police vehicle, the jeepney crashed into the road center island and then flipped over.
Fifteen jeepney passengers, including two pregnant women and a child, were wounded.
The driver of the police vehicle, SPO2 Eduardo Patrocinio, and his cop passenger, were also wounded.
The jeepney driver fled the scene after the incident. – report from Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
