MANILA, Philippines – A fire razed several houses under the Nagtahan Bridge in Manila before dawn Friday.
Both lanes of the bridge were closed to traffic after a fire erupted in one of the houses at around 3 a.m.
The blaze, allegedly triggered by a toppled candle inside one of the houses, also hit a portion of the bridge. At least 50 families were rendered homeless by the incident.
Authorities said they will check on the structural integrity of the bridge after its railings and concrete parts were hit by fire. – report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
