MANILA – A man carrying a bag filled with cash was shot by a robber in Makati City on Monday morning.

The unidentified victim was rushed to the hospital after he was shot on the leg by an unidentified robber along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue.

A witness told dzMM that the man was on his way to a bank, supposedly to deposit cash, when he was blocked by the robber. He said the suspect shot the victim after the latter refused to give the bag.

The suspect then fled the scene with the bag, leaving the wounded victim on the ground.

''Naglalakad kasi yung biktima tapos nakita ko sinabulog siya nung lalaki tapos nag-agawan sila. Nakita ko may kinuhang baril ang suspek tapos binaril niya talaga,'' said witness Mark Leslie.

Mark Leslie added he was told by an officemate that the man usually passes by the area to deposit cash to a bank nearby.

Another report said the victim boarded a motorcycle driven by another man.

Police have cordoned off the scene while an investigation is ongoing. – report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
