MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – A pregnant woman was injured after a bus rammed 5 vehicles along EDSA-Magallanes’ southbound lane on Thursday morning.

An Alabang-bound Cher bus went out of control and rammed two taxis, two cars and an FX.

Taxi passenger Cristian Mae Gonzales, 26, was rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Global City, Taguig.

Gonzales, who was 8 months pregnant, did not sustain any wound but complained of pain in the stomach. Doctors did not require her to be confined.

The accident caused traffic buildup that reached EDSA-Ortigas.

On Wednesday afternoon, a Don Mariano bus rammed the railing of the EDSA-Ortigas flyover. The accident also caused heavy traffic in the area.

The bus driver was allegedly using his mobile phone when the accident occurred.

Authorities said that if not for the MRT walls that blocked the bus, the vehicle would have fallen straight into the service road. – with a report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
