2 MMDA traffic enforcers nabbed for extortion

MANILA – Two Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic constables were arrested after allegedly extorting money from a traffic violator.

Complainant Teodorico Basas said three MMDA traffic enforcers extorted P3,000 from him in exchange for his confiscated car plate.

The police set up an entrapment operation after Basas complained.

Noel Galang, 31; and Salvador Sison, 50 were arrested at the corner of Boni Serrano and Katipunan avenues. Their cohort, identified as Randy Florida, managed to escape.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said the three may be removed from service if found guilty. – report from Alex Calda, dzMM
