Texting while driving?
Don Mariano bus (TXE 274) driver Lorenzo Beron said he inadvertently rammed the railing after he avoided a motorcycle and a car along the road’s southbound lane.
“Madulas ‘yung kalsada eh, ‘pag apply ko ng preno nag-pivot na siya eh,” he said.
However, one of the passengers alleged that the driver was texting on his cellphone and wasn’t focused on the road.
“’Yung driver kasi kaskasero po talaga, matulin talaga. Pinakaliwa, pinakanan, tapos bumangga na kami. Wala namang iniwasan kasi nagte-text ‘yung driver,” said Evelyn Lanang, one of the passengers.
Beron is now in the custody of Mandaluyong Traffic Bureau and may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting to damage to property and multiple physical injuries. -- with reports from Henry Atuelan, dzMM; Jenny Reyes, ABS-CBN News
