MANILA, Philippines – Three men who allegedly robbed a branch of E-Games in Novaliches, Quezon City were killed in a police encounter early Wednesday.
At least four suspects wearing masks reportedly entered the establishment in Barangay Gulod and declared robbery. They were able to disarm the security guard and take off with the shop’s employees and other valuables.
Jhavie Solidum, E-Games cashier, said one of the suspects even wore a Spider-man mask.
“Iyung maskara niya Spiderman.. [nakuha] pera ko, wallet, cellphone, wala lahat,” Solidum said.
Security guard Alex Calderon was able to alert the police, who then encountered and killed three of suspects along Samonte Street in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon.
The suspects used a plateless white Toyota Revo as their getaway vehicle.
“May report sa amin ang 117 (emergency number) so lahat ng exit pinasarhan ko… nakipagputukan sa amin, may nakatakas pang mga kasamahan ito,” said Superintendent Crisostomo Mendoza, chief of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 4.
The shop employees positively identified the slain men as the robbers. They also found their stolen bags at the site of the shootout.
