MANILA, Philippines - A lone bettor from Quezon City is now more than P215 million richer after winning the 6/55 Grand Lotto jackpot Saturday night, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said.
PCSO acting chairman Jose Ferdinand Rojas II yesterday said the lotto player hit the winning combination 04-52-55-38-46-06 by betting P18,430 for the lucky system 18, which allows the bettor to place a total of 924 six-digit number combinations from 1 to 55.
The winning combination had the jackpot of P215,867,812.
At least 50 other players won P72,000 each after they guessed five digits of the winning combination.
Another player from Albay won the P17,962,256 jackpot of Lotto 6/42 after getting the combination 27-01-29-04-06-18.
“The PCSO is happy to have two new millionaires on its roster of lotto winners. We will wait for the winners to claim their prizes,” Rojas said.
The PCSO official urged the people to continue to patronize online lotto games. He said a portion of the sales of lotto tickets goes to the charity fund of the agency to help the poor.
The biggest Grand Lotto jackpot of P742 million was won by a 60-year-old balikbayan in November 2010.
