Suspected 'salvage' victim found in Payatas

The corpse of a still unidentified male was found in Legaspi St., Barangay Payatas B in Quezon City Sunday morning.

Residents said they heard several gunshots near a grassy area of the barangay before discovering the corpse.

The victim was found face down with several gunshot wounds to the body. Residents said the victim stood about 5'2", had a small tattoo and was wearing a black shirt.

Police also found five empty casings in the area.

Residents said the victim could have been brought to the area to be murdered.

At least 31 alleged victims of summary execution have been recorded in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces since the start of the year.
