MANILA -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is setting up an extension office across the University of Santo Tomas (UST) along España Avenue in Manila.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said the office aims to deliver faster emergency response in the flood-prone area.

"Gaya nung unang ulan nung habagat nung Lunes, dalawang oras kami bago nakarating dito. 'Yung mga stranded, bago namin natulungan 'yung mga estudyante, 2 hours 'yun," Tolentino said.

He said the MMDA will continue to hold office along España until the rainy season ends.

"Siguro basically, six months muna. Tingnan ko hanggang matapos itong rainy season."
