MANILA - The Power Plant Mall in Makati City on Thursday clarified that the overflow of water reported inside the mall earlier was not caused by heavy rains.
In a statement, the Power Plant Mall said the water overflow on the concourse level was caused by a disengaged drain pipe from the roof deck, and not by heavy rains as reported earlier.
"The overflow of water on the Concourse Level of the Power Plant Mall on June 26, 2014 at around 3:30PM was caused by a disengaged storm drain pipe from the roof deck, located above a food establishment on that level," it said.
"Staff at the Power Plant Mall Operations team have contained the situation and have already stopped the surge of water," it added.
Major operations in the mall's concourse level have already resumed.
