MANILA, Philippines – A taxi driver died on the spot following a collision involving four cars and a motorcycle at the intersection of Mindanao Avenue and Congressional Avenue in Quezon City early Sunday morning.
The taxi driver was identified as Efren Tan.
According to initial investigations, Tan was driving his taxi on the northbound lane of Mindanao Avenue and was crossing the intersection of Congressional Avenue when it crashed into a Land Cruiser, driven by Jeremiah Recto.
The taxi ended up in the southbound lane of Mindanao Avenue, where it then crashed into a Toyota AUV.
The AUV, which contained pieces of furniture and matresses, tilted to its side and hit another car and the motorcycle.
Recto and Jimmy Macasaya, the motorcycle driver, were sent to the Quezon City General Hospital to be treated for injuries. Report from Dexter Ganibe, dzmm and Bettina Magsaysay, ABS-CBN News.
