MANILA - The bodies of six soldiers killed in action in Patikul, Sulu following a clash with the Abu Sayyaf Group on June 19 are set to arrive at the Villamor Air Base on Saturday.
The fallen soldiers were given a send-off ceremony at the Edwin Andrews Air Base on Saturday morning.
One of the seven soldiers killed in the clash will be transported to Baligian, Zamboanga del Norte.
Meanwhile, the 24 wounded in the clash are receiving treatment at the Camp Navarro General Hospital. Four of them are in critical condition.
The wounded soldiers were given a recognition by the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom).
The Wesmincom, meanwhile, is verifying if foreign and Filipino tourists were taken hostage by the group that launched the attack on Thursday.
