MANILA - Former Press Undersecretary Ike Gutierrez is offering a P100,000 reward for anyone who could give information that would lead to the arrest of his driver who allegedly stole his money and jewelry.
Gutierrez decided to offer the reward to speed up the arrest of his driver, Ronald Esmedia.
According to Gutierrez, Esmedia stole his jewelry and cash worth P1.6 million, which he was supposed to use to pay for the treatment of some kidney transplant patients he is helping.
He said Esmedia was supposed to bring the money and jewelry to his house, but the latter did not show up.
It was the first time Gutierrez entrusted more than a million pesos to his driver.
Police said those who have information about Esmedia may contact the Manila Police District (MPD) Special Task Force. -- Report from Ricky Velasco, dzMM
